With
a
deep
affinity
for
the
English
Romantic
poets
and
their
approach
to
nature,
music,
spirituality
and
‘the
beyondness
of
thought’,
Christala
Rosina’s
verse
strives
to
capture
some
faint
echo
from
the
fleeting
images
of
truth
and
beauty
around
us.
Her
first
attempts,
just
five
years’
ago,
to
solicit
the
attention
of
editors
placed
her
on
the
‘Honours
Lists’
of
two
international
poetry
competitions;
she
was
subsequently
awarded
First
Prize
in
Quantum
Leap’s
10th
Open
Poetry
Competition.
Since
then,
her
work
has
been
continually
featured
in
poetry
magazines
and
anthologies,
as
well
as
on
BBC
Southern
Counties
Radio
for
National
Poetry
Day.
Christala
is
delighted
to
announce
the
publication
of
her
first
volume
of
poetry,
Watercolour
Essences
of
Moon
(published
by
PublishAmerica),
in
2006.
A
qualified
teacher,
and
after
many
years
as
a
college
lecturer
in
A-level
English
and
Psychology,
Christala
now
teaches
privately
at
a
consultancy
level.
This
has
finally
allowed
her
the
time
to
develop
her
singing
and
other
talents
in
the
performing
arts.
Her
flair
for
words
and
the
stage
showed
themselves
early;
Christala
wrote
and
directed
her
first
play
when
she
was
only
11.
She
now
sings
and
performs
with
the
English
Arts
Chorale
and
Imperial
Opera,
London
and
has
considerably
developed
promotion
for
both
the
Chorale
and
Reigate
Summer
Music
festival
as
Press/Media
Officer.
She
introduced
poetry
to
the
festival,
producing
and
performing
in
two
inaugural
poetry-&-music
events,
one
of
which,
The
Poet
&
the
Nightingale,
was
a
celebration
of
the
deep
soul-link
and
enduring
mutual
admiration
between
poetry
and
music.
She
is
presently
working
with
award-winning
harpist,
Luisa-Maria
Ovett,
and
their
collaboration
forms
part
of
Christala’s
vision
for
an
exciting
marriage
between
two
kindred
spirits
of
the
arts:
presentations
of
her
poetry,
both
live
and
recorded,
against
classical
music
arranged
or
composed
especially
to
accompany
it.
She
is,
above
all,
an
artist
herself
in
the
fullest
sense:
‘It
is
an
expressiveness
that
seeps
through
life
and
transforms
it.’
Watercolour
Essences
of
Moon,
Christala
Rosina's
long-awaited
first
book,
comprising
over
fifty
of
her
beautiful,
thought-provoking
and
inspiring
poems.

Highly
moved
by
a
visit
to
a
local
children's'
hospice,
Kentish
girl
Julie
Wealleans
decided
to
use
her
favorite
hobby,
namely
writing,
as
a
way
of
helping
raise
funds
for
them
by
donating
to
them
half
the
proceeds
from
each
copy
sold.
Her
two
books,
a
poetry
anthology
entitled
"Misty
Rainbows"
and
a
short
story
anthology
entitled
"In
Quietness
And
Confidence,"
can
both
be
found
on
lulu.com,
the
world's
fastest-growing
provider
of
print-on-demand
books.
Poetry
anthology
"Misty
Rainbows"
and
short
story
anthology
"In
Quietness
And
Confidence"
are
both
breathtaking,
colorful
and
descriptive
journeys
through
her
world
of
imagination
and
memories.
Each
story
or
poem
paints
a
picture
with
words,
and
makes
entertaining
reading.
The
books
touch
many
aspects
that
we
all
meet
during
our
journey
along
the
path
of
life,
and
include
heartbreak,
loss,
fear,
and
on
a
happier
note,
lots
and
lots
of
humor,
funny
anecdotes,
happy
memories
and
light-hearted
observation.
There
should
be
something
there
to
suit
all
tastes.
More
importantly,
there
is
the
added
bonus
of
helping
the
children
at
Demelza
House
Children's'
Hospice
by
half
the
proceeds
of
each
book
sold
going
to
this
very
worthy
cause.
"I
have
visited
Demelza
House,"
says
the
author
Julie
Wealleans,
"and
despite
its
unbearably
sad
purpose,
it
is
a
wonderful
place
and
so
deserving
of
all
help
given.
It
is
a
lovely,
peaceful
place
in
a
beautiful
Kentish
setting,
and
part
of
the
building
is
a
converted
oast
house,
adding
to
its
charm.
It
is
so
tastefully,
respectfully
and
lovingly
done,
so
much
thought,
care,
and
planning
has
obviously
gone
into
the
design,
organization
and
running
of
the
place.
Every
need,
for
both
the
children
and
their
families,
has
been
taken
care
of.
It's
bright,
colorful
and
cheerful,
even
the
children's
rooms
are
cheerfully
decorated
to
resemble
their
own
bedrooms,
with
all
the
necessary
medical
equipment
discreetly
hidden
(and
at
the
same
time,
easily
accessible)
behind
wooden
panels.
The
children
have
access
to
all
sorts
of
activities,
like
music,
painting,
cooking,
computer
games,
seaside
trips
etc.
It
aims
to
add
life
to
days
where
days
cannot
be
added
to
life.
Such
a
touchingly
selfless
and
caring
place
that
leaves
an
imprint
on
your
heart
for
always.
I
have
always
loved
writing,
and
thought
what
better
way
to
help
this
wonderful
cause?"
Julie
has
always
loved
writing
from
an
early
age.
Her
inspiration
for
some
of
her
work
comes
from
people,
events
or
places
that
are
special
to
her
or
have
made
impressions
on
her
life.
Her
inspiration
for
other
work
comes
from
her
very
vivid
imagination,
and
from
bizarre
things
like
the
name
of
a
shop
that
appealed
to
her,
in
the
case
of
her
poem
"Dream
Catcher"
(which
is
now,
of
course,
also
the
name
of
a
film,
but
it
was
only
a
shop
name
at
the
time
of
writing
the
poem).
Currently
single,
she
lives
in
a
semi-rural
Kentish
town
with
her
Mum
who
she
adores,
and
rents
out
her
own
flat
to
tenants.
She
is
a
credit
controller
for
a
local
insurance
firm,
and
writes
in
her
spare
time.
She
also
does
a
lot
of
reading,
including
Arthur
Golden,
Dan
Brown,
Fyodor
Dostoevsky,
JK
Rowling,
GP
Taylor,
Louis
Sachar,
Tracy
Chevalier
and
Philip
Pullman.
She
is
vegetarian,
loves
films
and
theatre,
TV
sitcoms
(favorite
being
Only
Fools
&
Horses)
animals
(especially
cats),
and
being
with
her
family
and
friends.
Her
dream
is
to
live
on
the
coast
one
day,
in
a
seaside
town
complete
with
pier,
fairground
rides,
Punch
&
Judy
stall,
amusement
arcades
and
all
the
usual
traditional
British
seaside
resort
things
that
she's
loved
since
childhood.
Walking
in
the
fresh
sea
air
would
certainly
provide
much
thinking
time
and
inspiration
for
more
writing.
