Patricia Helen Moore

Top 100 Poets of the Year Award 2005
Runner up Prize Winner of £100

I am a 38-year-old woman who loves to write. Writing is my life, words are the tool, and determination is the key to my success. I have experienced many things in my life and homelessness is one of them, so this poem is very much based on my own life experience. I hope that this poem shows how hard it is for people on the streets and changes the opinion of society. Homelessness taught me one important lesson, that being ‘never to take for granted what you have today because tomorrow it may all be gone’.
