I was born, reared and educated in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and am still resident there. Now in my seventy-first year, my interest in poetry only commenced upon early retirement from management accounting in 1992. This enforced change emanated from loss of mobility and confronted me with a different kind of challenge.

My family and I lived abroad for some years and elsewhere in the UK during the seventies. A father of three and grandfather of three girls, I live alone and accordingly find the development of an interest in writing to be of benefit, particularly the extrapolation of some theme which may appeal to me.
