Sarah
Hudson
My
name is Sarah
and I live in
Cambridgeshire
with my fiance
and my cat. I
have been
writing poetry
for just over
six years now. I
have no formal
training, but my
life has taken
many twists and
turns and I find
that poetry is
the best way to
explore my
feelings and
express myself.
My poetry
changes daily
and I don't
necessarily like
to restrict
myself to strict
guidelines as I
find this can
often detract
from the true
emotions I am
trying to
express.
The
most important
thing for me is
to reach at
least one other
person with my
words and give
them something
to relate to.
I
have had several
poems published
to date.
Tired
from fighting
all day
Look
of sheer hatred
as he walks
away;
Seething, but
tired from
fighting all
day.
Lack
of understanding
of why he has
changed,
Who flicked the
switch to make
him deranged?
He
used to be
gentle and you
were once warm,
But now he's a
monster and your
heart is torn.
Watching
him go now you
feel sheer
relief,
But your soul is
empty, he's
stolen your
belief;
In
human kindness,
love, feeling
safe,
he's left you in
tatters; a lost,
lonely waif.
You're
wondering if you
have the
strength to go
on,
You know you
can't go back to
where you came
from.
He
lured you away
from that family
life
With dreams of
becoming husband
and wife.
You
curse yourself
for going heart
over head;
You'd never
thought you'd
end up nearly
dead.
Perhaps
if you rang them
they would have
you back,
But you cannot
risk the 'I told
you so' flack.
So
you'll just live
lonely and fend
for yourself
Regardless of
suffering
failing mental
health.
Now,
a look of
satisfaction as
he walks away,
No need to
endure the
fighting all
day.

Here
you are, within
me
Here
you are, within
me.
A little human
being
Growing inside.
Skin and bone,
Heart and soul.
My eyes and your
father's smile.
You move me.
You make me
glow.
I can't wait to
hold your tiny
hand.
You are the best
thing
That has ever
happened to me.
My little
miracle.
Here
you are, within
me.
A little human
being
Growing inside,
But not in my
womb.
Just in my
heart.
Just in my head.

Us,
together in this
universe
Many
shades of me and
you
Disguising what
we have been
through
Our
hearts pushed
from pillar to
post
Broken by those
we loved the
most
We
feel such pain
where we are now
Try to move on,
but don't know
how
Truth
is we are but
minors here
Left to face
what we most
fear
We
just blend into
this universe
And try to
forget our
secret curse
So
many others feel
pain too
So who should
care what we've
been through?
But
in between this
mess we're in
I see your light
amongst the dim
It
gives me faith
to see you smile
If only for a
little while
So,
though we float
with no clear
route
I hear your
cries, you are
no mute
And
all I hope is
that you too
Are here for me,
as I, for you

Together
we shine
Small
and
insignificant.
Beautiful;
Planets in the
night sky.
So close yet so,
so far.
We drift past
one another,
Oblivious to the
awe inspiring
light
That each of us
radiate.
When our sights
finally meet,
Blasts of colour
intertwine
Before our very
eyes
And our
sparkling
surroundings
Disappear into
the background.
You show me your
reds
And I my blues,
Destined to
float side by
side we glow.
Brightening;
Our
insignificance
becomes
significant
In one
another’s
existences.
Together;
We shine.

Gushing
Gushing
Waterfalls flow
To sparkling
streams below
Rinsing through
the debris of
storms
That shook and
ripped the
luscious earth
we know
And washed away
the buttercups.
Mother nature
renews;
Bright colours
sprout,
Gushing.

When
summer ends
When
summer ends and
the sun sets for
another year;
Here, the
wind picks up
and blows away
the glow.
Everybody
returns to a
daily slog and
No-one
feels relaxed
anymore.
Sunshine
fades, yet
warmth sets in,
in a different
way.
Under
canopies of gold
and bronze and
rust
My eyes
are soaked in
honey rays;
My feet
crunch the
ground below,
crusty leaves
drift;
Elevated
by the brisk
autumnal breeze.
Rolling
in the many
colours,
children giggle
in glee.
Every day
seems to grow
shorter.
Nights
draw in, in
preparation for
the next seasons
harsh
Darkness.
We wrap up warm
in scarves and
gloves and coats
in preparation
for the
Snow.
