Layla
Turner
My
name is Layla
turner I am
nineteen years
old and my star
signs a Gemini
and yes I do
have a split
personality
which I think
helps me to
write different
types of poetry
. I have had
five of my poems
published by
Forward Press
and I am hoping
to continue
having my poems
published as the
feeling I get
knowing that my
poems are going
to be in a book
is just unreal.
I have always
been all over of
books and I
loved English at
school I really
do love letting
my imagination
run away with
ideas and think
up a whole new
imaginary life
for me. Writing
for me is a way
for me to
express who I am
and how I am
feeling and
whenever I write
a really good
poem its one of
my great achievements
achieved.

Love In A Box
Twisted
hope forgotten
pleasure,
My love for you I
just cant
measure,
A puzzle of wood
you just cannot
fix,
I'm feeling
rather floaty a
funny kind of
mix,
I'm shooting my
love like a
darting arrow,
Looking at you
as I would a
sparrow,
Biting my nails I'm
nervous cant you
see,
My eyes are in a
daze I feel like
ecstasy,
Lost in a maze
scared but
feeling hot,
I'm coming for
you ready or
not,
Here I come oh
yes I do,
My box of love
is opened just
for you.

A
Dose Of Love
Loves
a healthy
medicine that we
all need to take
at some stage,
Love fights
against the bad
cells of hurt
pain grief and rage, Even
the word makes
you smile love
can take you to
a place of
unknown,
You can share
love anywhere in
a park in your
sleep you can
send it all
around your
home,
Love's the word
you cant say
without meaning
or you'll pay
the price,
Love is
everything
beautiful it
makes you feel
collected and
makes you feel
nice,
Love can be to
your lover your
family to your
pets or even to
yourself,
Don't be bitter
have love inside
and all around
because love
bubbles up your
health,
Love's shared in
many ways it can
be shared inside
or can be shared
physically,
Love keeps you
smiling love is
an object that
works mystically,
Everybody has
love and it
comes from what
we all have it
comes from the
heart,
Love is the most
treasured possession
it's priceless
loves a work of
homemade art.

Mum
When were young
and ever so
small,
You'd get us
dressed and take
us to school,
You'd make our
lunch and kiss
our cheeks,
Play our favorite
game of hide and
seek,
Read us stories
and give us
cuddles,
And make lovely
baths with lots
of bubbles,
You'd brush our
hair and keep it
long,
Put us to bed
and sing us a
song,
Wrap us up with
love and care,
Mum when we need
you your always
there,
You'd empty our potties
when we did a
poo,
And helped us
not to be afraid
of the loo,
You were so
happy when we
learned to walk,
And so
overwhelmed when
we started to
talk,
You bought us
things like our
first ever bra,
You taught us
about boys and
the ooh la la,
I look back on
the memories and
the things we
did,
Bringing us up
mum well you
sure have succeeded,
So here's a
little poem to
show your my
number one,
And I just want
to say I love
you so much mum.

My Son
I lay my head
against your
chest and listen
to the sound of
your heart,
It pierces
through my body
your love is
like the sound
of Mozart,
Your so tender
so small and I'm
afraid to let
you grow,
I'm so afraid
that when you
grow up you will
leave get up and
go,
Your a child
know nothing
about the world
the tree upon
your cradle is
so high,
You look around
your garden
amazed by the
cotton in the
sky,
I want music
creativity love
and belief to be
your destiny,
I
want you
to know al your
life that I will
love you for all
eternity,
Your my gift my
soul my treasure
and now I will
set you free,
I want you to
fly away and be
whoever you are
destined to be.

MY SOLDIERS
My soldiers I want
to wrap you in a
warm blanket and
tell you its ok,
But saddam has
gone to far and
is taking our
lives away,
He is causing
the grief the
hurt and the
pain everyday,
And he is taking
our hearts and
burning them
away,
My soldiers your
so brave and I
hope my prayers
will keep you
sane,
Thus I pray to
god that you
never feel any
pain and that
you will come
home again,
My strength your
strength
together we are
strong,
And we will find
the courage to
be able to carry
on,
My soldiers I
long to hold you
ever so tight,
And to keep you
away from these
fearful and
dreadful nights,
My soldiers don't
be scared
otherwise fear
will overcome
you,
So hold your
head high and believe
in what's true,
I am always with
you in mind and
soul but mostly
in heart,
So not even this
war can keep us
apart,
So don't you
worry and never
give up,
Because you've
given us strength
and set free our
love.
