The SubStation - John

I have 5 Children and a 15 month old Grandson. I also run a business from home so have not had much time to write my poems for a while. I have been writing poetry for as long as I can remember, and many of them have been lost over the years. I would love to have a book of poems published, I did have one of my poems published in a book called With the Rising of the Sun. A lot of my poems have been written from personal experiences and thoughts over the years, as I suppose is the case with most people.

The Giver of Love

Flowers dainty, Posies empty, Doors shut, Words Lost, Feelings gained,
Lights out, Memories burnt, Smiles lost, Tear stained,
Worlds found, Sanity gained,
Praises earned, Desires lit, Stories told, Mood swings,
Voices heard, Ears shut, Head clear, Face Stiff, Feet run, Bells ring,
Eyes close, Tears drop,
Nose turns, Hands flop,
Mouth burns, Knees shake, Sobs flow, Heart aches,
Cracks show, Palms sweat, Gut aches, Feelings sweet, Love takes.

Silently Sarah

Sarah sadly sobbed, slipping silently
So - Solitude
Seeking Solace, sadistically sore.
Selling Souls

Sordid sermons singled sobriety
Seemingly sane
Searing Sweetness sang searchingly
Somewhere Serene

WomanChild

The feminine body was hungry
Desirable
From within it burnt
Where are the flames to fan the fire
The mind was quiet
Absorbing all the wonderful things
Which would return
Someday, but she couldn't wait
Forever

The vulnerable child was lonely
Deep within
The Missing part was hungry
Crying in the night
Realising that all was lost
Would not return
Ever
