John Eccles My name is John Eccles, born in Yorkshire now living in the West Midlands. I have spent most of my working life involved in technology; the first ten years in pure research and the rest in industrial research and development. As in most jobs of this type, it involved a good deal of writing, particularly in the later years. Writing research programmes and reports, information for senior management, for industry and for technical publications. T.L. Parry Hi my name's Tim and I'm a 49 year old postman from Reading. I've been married to my lovely wife Jo for the past 28 years and we've been blessed with two beautiful daughters namely Anna and Katie who are now grown up. Sofiul Azam Born in Sherpur District, Bangladesh, in 1981, Sofiul Azam has earned Honours and Masters in English Literature from Rajshahi University. He has a book of poems titled Impasse, which was published from Pathak Shamabesh, Dhaka way back in 2003. Katie Reed my name is Katie Reed, Iove to write, i'm 23 and have written since I wrote my first poem at 15 in French class, kind of stuck with me ever since. Susan King I have always been interested in writing and in my early 30’s wrote a children’s story and about 50 poems. However I always felt rather aimless and uninspired. Afsana Taib My name is Afsana Taib and I'm twenty-nine years old and I am from London. I am married to Nawaz and have three children. Harvey Hamilton-Thorpe Having grown up in the wide expanses of north Lincolnshire with its Turneresque skies, I moved to the Northwest to be closer to the majestic countryside of the Dales and Lake District whilst at Lancaster University. Denise Longhurst My name is Denise Longhurst. I am 28 years old and I have had a passion for creative writing since I can remember. At a very young age I wrote short stories and later at college I began to write poetry. Shane Telford My name is Shane Telford and I'm eighteen years old and have been writing poetry for about 5 years now. I've always wanted to have a career in creativity, whether that be in screenwriting, lyrics or poetry. I've tried my hand at everything ... Mrs Shanu Goyal This is Shanu Goyal, born on 28th September 1973 in a small town of Uttar Pradesh, India. I’ve been writing poems since age of 12. For me, poetry is a medium to connect to my inner self. Though I’m a Masters in Business Administration and have worked with several organizations at different levels but still searching for my life purpose that could satiate the needs of an artist, a motivator and a hidden public speaker in me. Currently I’m working as a Personality Development Trainer. Donna Parkinson I am a soon to be 40 year old who recently took to writing poetry as a result of attending my best friends’ book launch in February. When asked what would she had hoped to achieve from her book to make up for all the hard work, she answered that if she inspired just 1 person in the room to write then it would all have been worthwhile. Rob Barratt Hello. I've only been writing seriously (if you can call comic verse serious!) for the last few years but I've always written spoofs and sketches for charity dos. I'm a singer too and write songs. Most of my stuff is about my odd take on things that happen in life. I'm 54 but 18 in my head. I've got a poem called "An Inconvenient Spoof" in the new Forward Press anthology, "Life's Wonders", out this week. Rose - Mary Gower I was born in Guernsey in 1950, but I have lived in the UK since my marriage in 1969. I currently live in a haunted house in North Wales with my disabled husband, who had a brain haemorrhage in 2006, and Down's Syndrome son. I am the carer for both of my menfolk ... Alby Raymond Parackal Born on 28th May 1960, as the son of late Mr.P.J.Raymond and Mrs Cicily Raymond in an island in the delta of river Periyar, called Kadalvathuruth in Chennamangalam village in North Paravur taluk, Ernakulam district. Kerala state, India. Trecie Roberts I am 36 years old and started writing poetry about six years ago. My poetry reflects experiences and feelings from events that have happened in my life, some are sad, some are happy. when I am inspired to write a poem, I have an influx of words that enter my head all of a sudden and I write them down and put them together, a little bit like when you have a dream ... Sharon Cawthorne Sharon Cawthorne is 53 and resides in Sheffield England. She started writing poetry at an early age, but only took it seriously since joining the poetry site Allpoetry in 2005. Most of her work is inspired by life itself and writes on many different subjects...nature being her favourite. Alan W Davies Born in 1945, proud dad to four sons and one daughter, and now granddad to eight, soon to be nine grandchildren, my family have been the inspiration for many of my poems. I also love to watch people and nature, and draw a lot of inspiration from this. Angela R Davies I am married with one precious daughter, and both my husband and I are now retired. Mary Goodchild I have lived most of my life in Aylesbury, a busy market town, except for 4 happy years living in Northampton, where I made many friends. Lianne Lee I am a 22-year-old student heading towards the end of my degree at the University of Hull. I have been a writer for as long as I can remember; it’s a trait I inherited from my mother, a witty poet and a closet potential novelist, if I do say so myself. Callum Lee Krzysik Waiting on Biography ... Domenico Barra Domenico Barra, better known as Domě, is an Italian artist, poet and singer. He was born on the 9th September 1982 in the ancient Greek town of Neapolis know today as Napoli. It was a sunny morning the day his extraordinary life began, perhaps one of the few in his life because of course for most extraordinary beings... everyday is stormy. After roaming the streets of Napoli for many years, he eventually moved to England at the age of 19. Steven Francis I'm a 37 year old poet living in Carmarthen. Been writing for 21 years, poetry, plays, essays. Everything inspires me, music, film, travel even politicians! A few of my favourite writers include Ezra Pound, Allen Ginsberg, Charles Buckowski. But time and time I return to the Romantics and discover something new. I have three collections of poetry written and find it the perfect way to express myself freely. Patrick Mullen Hi my name is Paddy, I am married with two children whom with my wife are my life. I have been writing poetry on and off now for about ten years. I work for a builder, but I have done various jobs in my time. I write poetry to make myself and other people feel better. I have been published before and it has driven me on to w rite more and more. Samantha King I've just turned 16 and I started writing two years ago. For me, poetry is an experience where I can unwind and let my emotions rule over me. I was first published in a Forward Press anthology called 'Memories Are Made Of This' in November 2007. I started writing poetry first of all because I needed an outlet to my frustration and despair. I'm glad to say it worked and eventually I began writing much lighter poetry. I tend to stick to environmental and romance. Paul Weightman Paul Weightman. Born May 1955 in Malta; the youngest of three brothers... Paul lived in Malta until 1958... Then his parents returned to England... After a very short period living in Catterick, North Yorkshire. Paul’s parents then moved to Bridlington, East Yorkshire. Paul started his schooling at Burlington Infants & Junior School in Bridlington, and then moved onto finish his schooling at Headlands School... in 1973, he then joined the British Army (The Blues & Royals) Paul had a full and exciting career, in 1992 he finished his service, which saw him on active service around the world, including five tours of service in Northern Ireland; The Falklands War, The Gulf War and Bosnia, to mention just a few. Shilla Mutamba I hold an MSC in Biomedical Science from the University of Portsmouth and am a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science (UK). I was born in Zimbabwe where I studied Medical Laboratory Sciences at the University of Zimbabwe. I then relocated to the Isle of Wight to take up a post as a Biomedical Scientist. I currently live in Leicestershire with my husband and children. Dominic Davies Dominic is twenty years old, currently studying English Language and Literature at the University of Liverpool, where he has, after studying the great poets such as Wordsworth, Shelley, Coleridge, Milton, Johnson and Swift to name a few, been inspired to undertake some writing of his own. Michael Bryant I am 22 years old and have been writing since I was 18. I was first published in a magazine called "Poetry Church" and have been writing for this and several other magazines ever since.
