Submissions
You may submit between 15 and 20 poems. These can be published or unpublished as long as you own the copyright. There are no restrictions on theme or style - however the selection of work should represent your individual poetic style. Poem length is subject to a maximum of 120 lines per poem; ideally we hope to publish a selection of varying lengths and can accept up to a maximum of 270 lines per author.
Author Profile
Your profile should be 250-300 words and possibly include a brief account of your background, why you write poetry, your influences and inspiration, specific interests and recurrent themes etc. If you wish to send a photograph of yourself we can include it alongside your profile.
Questionnaire
On a separate sheet please answer the following questions:
What subject/theme does your poetry address?
What are the names and addresses of any
writers' groups to which you belong?
What are the names and addresses of your local
newspapers, radio stations and any other
contacts you may have?
What other ideas or contacts do you have that
you think may help with the publicity of the
publication?

Publicity
We hope to generate interest in the local media and can send review copies (accompanied by your details as an author in the collection) to the local newspaper(s) and, if suitable, radio station(s). As a result of this you may be contacted for your comments, an interview and/or, in the case of radio, to read some of your work.
Authors will also be provided with publicity flyers for the Spotlight anthology in which their work is published and posters can be arranged for any book signings or presentations that the authors may be attending.
If contacts are provided by authors then these will be contacted one month after publication.
The Spotlight Poets series is to be run as a joint publishing project. Authors accepted for publication will be those who are prepared to assist with these marketing projects.
Publishing
Schedule

1 |
The editors will notify you within approximately 6 weeks whether your work has been accepted for a Spotlight Poets collection. If accepted we will send you typeset copies of your accepted poems (for you to read and correct), and we will ask you to confirm that you hold the copyright to all of the selected work. A copy of your photograph will also be sent to you for checking.
At this stage we will ask you for an initial order*

|
2 |
Upon receiving your confirmation and order, your poems and author profile will be corrected. A second set of proofs will then be sent to you for final checking and approval. Please allow 2 weeks for receipt of these.
|
|
3 |
Having received your corrected proofs and amended them as necessary, the entire book will progress to our design department for final layout. Photographs will then be added to the author profile.

The books will then be sent to production and four to six weeks later you will receive your books and publicity flyers. One month after publication we will be sending out press releases to any contacts you have provided.
