The Journey, depicts a small band of 23 waifs, aged between five and twelve, who see their homes burnt and their parents taken away in one of the planet's pointless ethnic conflicts, and who choose to make an epic journey through unknown and hostile territory in their attempt to be reunited with their familes.

A compelling adventure story, celebrating the human spirit in a harsh, ever-changing life-and-death situation, that is both dramatic and uplifting.

The Author

Robin Hawdon is now primarily a playwright whose works are performed around the world (The Mating Game, Don't Dress for Dinner, Perfect Wedding etc.)

Robins has had a full and varied career in the arts, in which he has been a leading actor, in both television and film, and a director of one of England's foremost theatres. His previous novel, A Rustle in the Grass, was published by Hutchinson as its Book of the Month.
