The Author

Lilian Cooksey lives in the Lake District, in an old Lakeland bank barn which she and her husband converted themselves.

She made hand-thrown pottery in her own studio for about fifteen years, and ran a pony-trekking business, before settling down to a more full-time writing career.

Several of her poems and short stories have been broadcast on radio and published in the press, and she has written more then seven adventure books for children.

In her spare time, Lilian enjoys mountaineering, skiing, and horse riding, and is a member of the Coniston Mountain Rescue Team.
